Latest Updates from Our Project:

Dunkeldorf: The Prancing Peacock Kickstarter
almost 4 years ago – Sun, Jun 07, 2020 at 11:25:45 PM

We know a lot of you have been following along on Facebook, but to those of you who haven't: It's almost time for the new Dunkeldorf Kickstarter! We wanted to share some information and pictures from the upcoming project as all of you who backed our first campaign might find the next one interesting as well.

On Tuesday, June 9 we'll launch our 2nd campaign called "Dunkeldorf: The Prancing Peacock". The Kickstarter is centered around Littleton Proudcock's popular inn "The Prancing Peacock". But there'll be plenty of focus on the regular townsfolk and Dunkeldorf fluff.

Welcome to the Prancing Peacock!

If you want to take a look at the new Kickstarter you can sign up to receive a notification once the campaign is launched. Just go here and sign up: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kinggames/dunkeldorf-the-prancing-peacock

The campaign will start out with a total of 14 new miniatures, but we have A LOT of stretch goals planned and we actually already have concepts for 12 additional miniatures, just in case we get as much support as we did with our first Kickstarter. Just like our first campaign a lot of the stretch goals will be miniatures and accessories that are added to your pledge for free.

A few examples of some of the Stretch Goal Characters

Many of the stretch goal Characters are not tavern themed as we want to make sure that there's something for everyone. So with stretch goals unlocked  the campaign should be worth checking out for everyone, even if you don't need tavern miniatures!

Among the 14 new characters we have sitting miniatures that fit together with our new chairs, benches and tables. There'll also be a lot of accessories, different furniture and of course more Dunkeldorf pets! The Peacock "Philipp" is our very first stretch goal in the campaign and will be free for the two main pledges.

Buildings by Tabletop-World

The thieving and dangerous mutant Franz is having a harder and more difficult time hiding his mutation and certainly won't waltz into The Prancing Peacock through the front door. Instead he'll scale the walls, break into the guest's rooms and steal their valuables while they're enjoying themselves downstairs.

We hope you're in for another Dunkeldorf campaign that thanks to all of you is now possible for us to make even bigger than the first one.

Dunkeldorf Now Available in our Webshop & More
about 4 years ago – Sat, Feb 08, 2020 at 02:05:49 AM

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since our last update, we hope all of you have received your miniatures a long time ago and are happy with them. We have already seen a bunch of painted examples by some of you and we can't tell you how awesome that is to see! :D

Littleton and Leopold in matching outfits.

We thought that we would send out an update letting you know that, first of all more or less all the miniatures and accessories from the campaign are now available in our webshop, so if you missed out on some scenery or Leopold you can grab them right here: Dunkeldorf Miniatures

Secondly we wanted to tell you a bit more about our next Dunkeldorf campaign launching later this year.

An evening in Dunkeldorf, Tully lurking in the shadows.

A Second Dunkeldorf Campaign!

With the new campaign, some things will be a bit different. One of the big ones is that we'll add some new members to our little Dunkeldorf team!

Sonny Bundgård is working overtime with a bunch of non-hobby things in his life (You all probably know how it is!) and he has had to admit that he will not be able to finish the same amount of things that he did for the first campaign. Before Sonny even realized that, Nana, Sonny and I had already talked about adding more sculptors to the team to get a fresh perspective on the new campaign. So a contact with new sculptors had already been established.

Gowak's hog, now with a name: "Bruno"

The New Sculptors

The first sculptor we talked to is Radek / Ristul's Creations. A great guy from Poland that we have worked with for many years via our webshop / King Games. In late 2014 we started selling Ristul's products in our webshop and have always loved his creations. Since then, Radek has more or less retired from casting his own things and is now fully focusing on sculpting. If you want to check out Radek's old stuff, Annie from Bad Squiddo Games purchased most of his things and are selling them in her webshop.

Radek will be focusing on creating some terrain elements and accessories for the campaign, and we'll soon start showing some of the things he has already done for us!

Franz the Mutant, sculpted by Sonny Bundgård

Recently we have also gotten two other sculptors on board, basically at the same time. These are two veterans in the industry, Alessio Cisbani / Wolfbane-Art from Italy who has worked closely together with Mustafa before and who excels at the style we're looking for! Alessio is also very talented with a pencil and will personally be doing concept art for his sculpts.

And for the final sculptor spot for the next campaign we have Philip Hynes / Bears Head Miniatures from United Kingdom. Philip's usual style is a bit different from our miniatures, but we're confident that Philip can get the Dunkeldorf look right, and we especially love Philip's work on female and animal miniatures, so those were the first task he was asked to do!

So, we'll have 4 different sculptors working on the next Dunkeldorf project, and we can't wait to see what they come up with! And while Sonny is not doing 100% as he did on the first campaign, he'll still be a large part of the next one and will end up doing several characters and accessories.

The Dunkeldorf Road Signs

Onwards to the Art Department!

Nana and I had early on decided that we wanted to be a bit more flexible with our sculptors this time, and this meant that we would have a lot more direct contact to our sculptors about what we wanted to get from the miniatures instead of working directly on the concept art which would then be handed to the sculptors. When we reveal more about the campaign later on, this decision might make more sense. But Dunkeldorf would not be the same without the artwork, so we are still planning on getting as much as possible done for the campaign.

Mustafa Bekir has already finished a bit of concept for the next campaign, we have already shown several of these and he'll continue to make more goodies ready for the next one.

Joining Mustafa on the artwork task, is another talented but very busy man named Christian Schwager / Art of Schwager from Germany. Christian has worked with several large companies in the miniatures and board games industry such as Games Workshop & Fantasy Flight Games. As mentioned, Christian is a busy man and while he will be working with us on the next campaign, he won't be doing a bunch of things, but we're so excited just to get a bit of work done by him!

The Dunkeldorf Accessories

I believe that's it for now but we'll soon start showing a lot more things for the upcoming Dunkeldorf Kickstarter.  We currently don't have a precise estimate on when the campaign will be launched, but we know for sure that it will be at least another 3 months. Remember to join us in the Dunkeldorf Community or follow us on our Facebook Page for more information on the project!

And should you for some reason not have received your parcel yet, please let us know so we can check up on the tracking or send out a new parcel for you if it has been lost in transit. Thanks again to all of you backing our campaign, you helped us achieve something that we're really proud of and we can't wait to add more to the Dunkeldorf universe!

Have a very great weekend! - Nana & Nicki

Time for Celebration in Dunkeldorf!
over 4 years ago – Wed, Nov 20, 2019 at 01:18:43 PM

The project is officially 100% fulfilled! The last Villager pledges went out yesterday. It's such a great feeling having shipped everything out and hearing all the positive comments from those of you who have received your pledges.

Thank you all so much for your support of Dunkeldorf and making this line of miniatures a reality - It may sound as a cliché, but we honestly couldn't have done it without your help - Nana and I run a small business and the expenses of getting a whole line of miniatures created and put into production would be difficult without your support and would have taken us a lot longer. So thank you for making this dream of ours possible!

The Dunkeldorfians are celebrating. But at Herman's table, only his inner circle and the nobility of Dunkeldorf are welcome. Even as Herman's manservant, Linus is of course still not invited to join the actual feast.

Practical Info

With all parcels on the way, we thought it would be a good idea to point out a few things:

  • If your parcel hasn't shown up within a couple of weeks, send us a message and we'll check up on the tracking info.  If you're Danish, it should show up this week and EU countries next week.
  • Please write to us if something is missing in your parcel, if something has been broken during transport or if we missed something in the quality control. We'll take care of it!

And in case you missed out on some Add-ons or Miniatures, you'll be able to purchase them in our webshop within a few weeks: Dunkeldorf Miniatures at King Games

We're really looking forward to launching the next Kickstarter in 2020 and hope that you're interested in checking it out. There's still a lot of work ahead of us, Nana and I have most of the ideas planned out and both Sonny and Mustafa have already begun working on it, so make sure to keep an eye on the Dunkeldorf Facebook Page in the coming months where we'll soon start revealing more information and pictures!

In the next few months we'll also be working on updating Dunkeldorf.eu with more pictures and stories from this campaign.

Franz the Mutant

All the Early Bird backers got a sneak peek at some of the upcoming characters for our next campaign. One of these is Franz the Mutant. The townsfolk don't pay much attention to Franz and are completely unaware of his mutation, which he hides under his jacket, giving the impression that he's simply missing an arm.

His mutation has grown a lot worse these last few days after The Blood Moon appeared over Dunkeldorf, and it's becoming increasingly difficult for Franz to hide his tentacle arm from the townsfolk. But living on the streets, in sewers and abandoned buildings does make it easier and Franz is used to hiding in the shadows anyway.

The bag on Franz' back contains stolen goods, that he steals from Dunkeldorf homes and establishments. He utilizes his tentacle arm to scale walls and climb in through open windows. In the RPG source book, a desperate Littleton Proudcock is asking the party of adventurers for help investigating break-ins at The Prancing Peacock. This investigation might lead to a more perilous encounter than just confronting a dangerous mutant.

Thanks again to all of you for supporting our project! And remember to join us in the Dunkeldorf Community, where we would love to see your work on the miniatures :D

Best regards from the whole Dunkeldorf team - Mustafa, Sonny, Nana & Nicki

Packing Update
over 4 years ago – Sat, Nov 09, 2019 at 12:36:57 PM

Hey everyone, this will be a short update to inform you all on the current packing status.

The last metal (And the remaining 200 cauldrons and barrels in resin) that we were missing to continue sending out orders are set to arrive on Tuesday. Once the package arrives we'll immediately go through the content, sort and then finally bag it. There's around 1400 sprues and some missing miniatures (As Chris couldn't fit everything into the 50 kg parcel last time), so we'll spend the entire Tuesday on this job, unless the package is delivered very early during the day.

With the last stuff delivered, we'll end up with a combined resin & metal weight of 200 kg for the Dunkeldorf Kickstarter.

Anyway! On Wednesday we'll continue to pack orders. We have a little over 300 orders left, and our goal is to get all of them packed before the weekend, so approximately 100 a day. So all remaining Noble Pledges, Villager Pledges and Late Pledges should go out next week.

If we run out of time before the weekend, the remaining ones will be ready on Monday instead. But we have bribed Nana's parents with false promises of delicious cookies and exotic coffee if they lend us a hand with the packing next week, which they've foolishly agreed to. So with the extra help we're fairly certain we'll get the job done in time!

Reiner Krukenberg

Nana finished painting Reiner! She's only missing the Crone and Leopold now.

Reiner serves as the commander of a group of private guards protecting Herman's manor and grounds. He's a corrupt man who does everything he can to please Herman, laughs (Often too much) of Herman's "jokes" and gladly does whatever dirty work needs doing.

Reiner recently decided that he wanted "One of them vicious small dogs that bite really damn hard" but unfortunately he got the breeds slightly mixed up, and now has an utterly lazy pug named Brunnhilde that follows him around everywhere instead.

Floria's Dagger

A few backers have asked us about Floria's dagger, since it wasn't included in their pledge. Floria's dagger was swapped out for Wurt's Axe, as Floria's dagger had a few issues on the resin casts we had received and we felt it was better to go the safe route with the axe that had some solid casts. The amount of weapons are the same, the dagger has just been swapped for the axe instead :)

It's completely my fault for not informing you about about the change, I was actually 100% certain that I had written it in an update, but I went through them all and had written nothing about it (Sorry!). Hopefully you can use an axe just as much as a dagger :)

Early Bird Parcels

All of the Early Bird parcels should have been delivered to everyone in Denmark and most of the European countries. We've heard from people in Australia and USA who have received their parcels as well. If you're an Early Bird, and you haven't received any tracking mail for some reason and your package hasn't arrived around Wednesday/Thursday next week. Just send us a message and we'll look up the tracking number to see if it's stuck in customs or have been dropped off at a "Pickup location" without you being notified.

Next week we'll be VERY busy packing, so bear with us if we're not answering as fast as we usually do. I'll do my best to check on a regular basis if there are any questions etc. - Remember to join us in the Dunkeldorf Facebook Community right here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/DunkeldorfCommunity/ if you're interested in joining our growing Dunkeldorf Community.

We can't wait for the rest of you to receive your pledges, we're so happy with all the feedback we've gotten so far :) Oh and scrolling through the update it didn't end up quite as short as expected, woops. Now carry on with your weekend!

Best regards, Nana & Nicki

Shipping Status
over 4 years ago – Sat, Nov 02, 2019 at 02:47:44 AM

Hey everyone! Phew, Nana and I have been busy this week, sorting, bagging and packing orders. All Early Birds have been shipped out and we've already heard back from a lot of people who have received their packages. It's such a great feeling for us seeing you receive the miniatures and please do continue to share it with us!

We've included some pictures from backers who have already received their pledge and were kind enough to show them to us in the Dunkeldorf Community Facebook Group.

As mentioned in the last update, we knew we wouldn't have enough metal accessories to ship out all orders. I've just talked to Chris about the last metal and he will be shipping out the rest of the things on Tuesday. Once the last accessories arrive we have everything we need to ship out all remaining orders.

What are we doing while waiting for the last accessories?
So, we have run out of metal accessories now, but all the Peasant Pledges contained none of the accessories. So we decided that we might as well get all those shipped out. They were packed yesterday and are being shipped out today.

And yes, we know what you're thinking. Why would we ever put the peasants above the nobility? And not to worry! We're merely doing it so the noble packages won't be touching the peasant ones, when we pack the remaining pledges later on ;)

Nana and I will take a normal weekend with a break from Dunkeldorf packing, but on Monday we will start preparing the remaining orders. So once the last accessories arrive, it's quicker for us to get them shipped out as we have already done a lot of the work.

Current Status and Remaining Pledges
Right now the status is that all Early Bird and all Peasant Pledges have been shipped out. That's close to 1/3 of all pledges.  We hope that in about 10 days time we can continue to ship out the remaining pledges, but it depends on when the last accessories arrive. We'll keep you posted!

A few final things

1. We packed some extra standard noble pledges with the last spare accessories we had left after packing the early bird pledges, so a few of you will receive them soon. You should get a shipping notification later today if you're one of the lucky ones :)

2. We have included a short "How to prepare your Dunkeldorf Miniatures" flyer in the packages we have shipped out, with the following information and more. But we also wanted to point it out here in an update, that the Notice Board is prone to getting bent during transportation. It's however quite easy to adjust back into it's normal position. Just hold it under very warm water for a short while and bend it back into the right position, then immediately hold it under cold water. This can even be done to the base of the Notice Board if it has become warped.

3. Should you experience any issues with the miniatures or if something is missing etc. - Just send us a message here on Kickstarter, on Facebook or via e-mail ( info @ kinggames.dk ) and we'll get it sorted out :)

I think that was it for now! Update coming again as soon as we know when the last accessories arrive in Denmark. Have a great weekend!

Best regards, Nana & Nicki
