Old Tully & Prancing Peacock Tavern Bases

Heeeeere's Tully!

The nobleman was already quite late for supper, and he was undoubtedly sure to get a scolding when arriving home so late. The dark streets and the eerie red glow from the Blood Moon hanging low in the night sky above Dunkeldorf, didn't exactly make him feel any better. But he was in a hurry and thought to himself "I'll just take a shortcut down this alley, it'll save me some minutes"

As he walked down the dark alley, the sound of a... melody? Could be heard. It almost sounded like someone playing a flute.. The nobleman quickened his pace, trying to think about the delicious supper waiting for him at home, and not the haunting melody echoing through the alley.

But suddenly his thoughts were interrupted as a ragged beggar jumped out from the shadows and yelled "Spare a copper for a struggling old piper?!" The nobleman almost fell to his knees "Oh, you gave me a proper scare!" he exclaimed.

The shabby looking man, holding a flute in one hand and a hat in the other took a step closer towards the nervous nobleman. "So how's about that copper then?"

The nobleman still a bit shook over the beggar's 'ambush', did his best to remain calm "No, ahem, I'm sorry sir. I don't have any spare coin on me, and you really shouldn't sneak up on people like that!" he replied while quickly moving past the foul smelling beggar.

The nobleman continued with full haste down the alley, but could hear footsteps directly behind him.

As he turned around to look, the beggar jumped towards him with an outstretched hand holding his hat. "Just one little copper for Old Tully, sir?! I did just play you that nice tune"

The nobleman started to get nervous as the beggar gave him a mad-eyed stare. "Just a single copper!" the beggar proclaimed as he almost simultaneously blew into his flute and jumped closer towards the nobleman, who now started fearing for his own safety.

And in that instant he remembered... The rumours of people disappearing in Dunkeldorf these last few nights... Men, women, even teenagers, poor AND noble alike. Struck with a sudden fear, he turned tail and ran.

The nobleman could hear the beggar right behind him, and in pure despair he dug into his coin pouch, grabbed a handful of coins and tossed them over his shoulder towards the creepy beggar, not knowing if they were copper, silver or gods forbid it gold! But the last thing he wanted was that beggar following him anywhere near his home.

With the beggar distracted, the nobleman ran directly to his house, locking the door behind him. He embraced his wife, started to sob and told her the story of the night he met the piper of Dunkeldorf and almost lost his life.

The inspiration for Old Tully

Nana and I really wanted a Dunkeldorf character based on Ian Anderson from the band "Jethro Tull", and the idea of an annoying beggar, playing the flute and stalking unsuspecting people in the streets of Dunkeldorf was quickly born! Oh and just in case you're wondering, Tully is NOT the one behind these disappearances mentioned in the story ;)

The Prancing Peacock Tavern Bases

We have just made a new Add-on available. "Prancing Peacock Tavern Bases" These Wooden Floor bases come in a set of 6, just like the Dunkeldorf Cobblestone bases.

The bases are cast in resin and the price for a set of 6 is 32 DKK - Approximately: 4 EUR / 5 USD

Remember that all Add-ons can be purchased through our Pledge Manager after the campaign has ended - We'll send out an update regarding this within the next couple of days with more information about the Pledge Manager as well.

The Parchments Stretch Goal was recently unlocked and we're working on the WIP pictures and the final price of these!

Eva Eilhart, Dunkeldorf's Bailiff

Herr Franz looked at the bailiff and continued to plead; “Please, have you no mercy?! I have lost everything! I have shut down my business and can barely afford to put food on the table for my family. For god's sake, my only son's ill and I can't even pay for his medicine! Please woman, you must understand.”

The down on his luck merchant gave the bailiff a small hopeful smile, thinking she might see how wretched his situation, and feel a slither of compassion.

The only thing the bailiff saw however, was the barely visible gold tooth in the top corner of his mouth. Eva placed her right hand in a pocket sewn into her skirt and walked closer to the merchant. "So.. 2 days ago, you told me you would have the tax money and now, 2 days later you say you need 2 more days..."

She let out a little chuckle.. "Very well Herr Franz, you'll get two more days".

A sigh of relief washed over the merchant as Eva turned and walked away, but in an instant, the bailiff spun around, her right hand clenching a set of brass knuckles. The merchant never had a chance to react to the punch. He fell to the ground spitting out blood, pieces of his broken teeth, and a single, shiny chunk of gold.

Nana just finished painting Eva and she painted her with a little smile on her face. Not because she's nice, but because she really enjoys her work..

Eva quickly collected the gold tooth and held it up. "Well well, what have we here? Is that for me Herr Franz? How generous of you. I guess that about covers 4 days of total interests. I'll be back to collect your taxes in two days. And if you don't have the payment by then, I'll gladly come inside and talk the situation over with you AND your family.. "

Eva walked away from the bleeding, crying merchant, whistling a jolly tune while putting the gold tooth into her chest. She just had one more stop left: Delivering today's haul over to Herman Geizhals.

Dunkeldorf's Burgomeister hates most of the townsfolk, but there's one person he's always excited to see walk into his office.. Eva Eilhart, the ruthless bailiff of Dunkeldorf..

Leopold, the Ogre Bouncer

At long last we have some news about Leopold, the ogre who works as a bouncer at The Prancing Peacock. Leopold is available as an Add-on, you can raise your pledge to purchase him (To help reach more Stretch Goals) or simply wait for the Pledge Manager where you can purchase him instead.

Price of Leopold: 65 DKK (Approximately 8.7 EUR / 10 USD / 7.5 GBP) - He will be cast in metal just as all the other miniatures in the Dunkeldorf line!

Below you can see the WIPs from Sonny - He's very close to being finished. We're considering adding a pouch or something similar on his back - Let us know if you have any ideas!

I don't believe we've mentioned that Linus Witzner has been unlocked, but he has! Sonny is already working on him, and hopefully we can show some WIPs next week.

We still have 6 days left of the campaign, hopefully with more stuff to be added. Right now everything below is included with the Noble Pledge, priced at 475 DKK

  • 17 Miniatures (4 added for free through Stretch Goals)
  • 3 Animals (2 Cats & 1 Dog)
  • 7 Accessories (Chopping Block, Lockbox, Anvil, Feast, Wiener Barrel, Surgeon Bag & Cauldron)
  • 5 Weapons (Throwing Axe, Dagger, Rapier, Zweihander & Cleaver)
  • 12 Miniature Posters

With a total of 17 miniatures that means that each miniature in the Noble Pledge costs 28 DKK / 3.6 EUR / 4.3 USD and then there's also all the accessories! You'll not be able to get such a deal on these miniatures again, so if you think anyone you know might be interested, let them know and hopefully we can add a few extra things to the pledges!

Have a lovely Friday everybody! We'll be back with an update on Sunday :)

New Add-on (Dunkeldorf Posters)
about 5 years ago – Wed, Mar 27, 2019 at 10:53:27 PM

Dunkeldorf Posters (A3)

We have just added a new Add-on, Dunkeldorf Posters in A3 format! The first one is of Herman plotting in his manor (We showed this one in the Herman update a while back) Mustafa did an awesome job with this piece and I feel he really captured the sinister side of Herman.

The second poster is of Herman, Bertha & Günther "Posing" in front of the Dunkeldorf logo. These are the 3 very first characters that was designed for Dunkeldorf, so we thought they would be a perfect fit for a poster!

The price is 20 DKK (2.7 EUR / 3 USD) per poster or 35 DKK (4.7 EUR / 5.3 USD) for both.

Resin casts of three Dunkeldorfian ladies

We have just received a package containing three lovely ladies cast up in resin (These are used for the painted examples and eventually to go into the production mould!) Christopher Taylor from Lancaster Casting did an amazing job casting these and Nana is already busy painting them up!

As I'm writing this update, she has actually just finished painting Eva, Dunkeldorf's ruthless bailiff, who collects tax money for Herman.

Leopold, the Ogre Bouncer

I know that you guys are eager to know the price tag on Leopold, the Ogre Bouncer. Sonny is almost ready with some proper WIP pictures so we can officially price him on the campaign page. But in case you're considering adjusting your pledge due to the posters - We thought we would give you the price on him as well!

Price on Leopold: 65 DKK (8.7 EUR / 10 USD) - Remember that everything in our Kickstarter Campaign is cheaper than it will be once the miniatures "hit retail".

Sneak Peek

And here's a little sneak peek at something we've been working on. Stay tuned for more information about this one, and a couple of other ones quite similar to it!

That's it for this time, have a lovely day everybody! :)

Herman Geizhals & New Stretch Goals
about 5 years ago – Tue, Mar 26, 2019 at 09:16:14 PM

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

We have just revealed 2 new Stretch Goals! The "Crone's Cauldron" and "Wilhelm's Rapier" as seen below.

We have decided together with Sonny to stray slightly from the artwork of the cauldron,  the steam effect will not be included on the sculpted version.

Herman Geizhals, Dunkeldorf's Burgomeister

On to Herman, the unpopular Burgomeister of Dunkeldorf, who ends up showing his truly evil side during this year's Moon Festival.

The servant took a deep breath to calm his nerves, mustered what little courage he could, and then knocked three times before slowly opening the door.

”S-sir? I’ve brought you your evening snack”

“About damn time!” shouted a wet, corpulent voice “But at least you have learned to knock three times before entering, so I can assume you are not a complete halfwit.”

“Yes sir, th-thank you v-very much sir”, the servant stammered as he edged slowly towards the Burgomeister.

The Burgomeister didn’t even bother to turn around to look at him. He sat at his large, ornamental desk, staring out of his study window at the night sky and the blood moon that was casting an eerie red glow over Dunkeldorf.

The servant, trying to steady his shaking hands, mumbled a question. “Begging your pardon sir, but where would sir like the tray placed?”

The Burgomeister slowly lifted his fleshy, meaty bulk from the chair, turned and glared at the poor wretch, and shouted “Just put it right there and get out of my sight you cloying filth! I have great matters to consider, and your presence is a distraction I will not tolerate! GET OUT!”

The servant scurried quickly from the room, careful not to knock over anything and make his master even angrier. The Burgomeister lustfully stared at the giant meat filled platter, and excitedly licked his lips.

After every last morsel of meat, gristle, and fat had been finished, he poured himself a brandy and once again looked out his window.

“Miserable, worthless ants.” he muttered to himself.  “They don’t even know how good they have it. I do everything for them, and what thanks do I get? Not a single thank you.  No flowers, no gifts, nothing! They owe everything to me! I’ll show them. I’ll show them all........”

One final thing! Some of you have asked about a price on Leopold - And we're working on it. Since it's a pretty large miniature, we need to account for a few things related to casting him. But we're getting there and Sonny is busy getting him ready for some pictures so you can see what he looks like!

Dunkeldorf's Barber Surgeon
about 5 years ago – Tue, Mar 26, 2019 at 08:19:27 PM

Time for the Barber Surgon, Günther Hinkel to shine! He's the guy you go to if you need a haircut, your beard trimmed or have a nasty wound or injury that needs tending. Günther has just the right tools for the job!

Günther might not look like the warmest person, but he's actually one of the good ones in Dunkeldorf!
Günther might not look like the warmest person, but he's actually one of the good ones in Dunkeldorf!

Günther Hinkel, Dunkeldorf’s barber surgeon, has been pretty busy lately. First, Bertha was brought in with a terrible eye injury, which ended up with her losing her eye. Afterwards he learned that Bertha’s cat ”Bull” had gone missing and immediately after patching her up, he offered to help her look for him.

Bertha & Günther found Bull in the sewers of Dunkeldorf, completely drenched in sewer filth and dragging a huge rat across the floor. When Bull saw Bertha & Günther, he let go off the rat as if he had now completed his task and fell to the floor out of pure exhaustion.

Bertha ran to Bull and lifted him up. It was clear that he had been in the fight of his life, deep wounds and scatches over his entire body, but worst of all was his eye. Bertha couldn’t even see if he still had his left eye, due to the amount of blood.

Günther applied some quick bandages and they quickly returned to ”Shears & Bandages” where Günther patched Bull up. Like Bertha, Bull ended up losing an eye, but it didn’t seem to matter much to him, he was just happy to be reunited with Bertha.

Gunther's Barber Surgeon Bag

Here's a little WIP update from Sonny on Günther's bag. It has just the right tools needed for a true Dunkeldorfian barber surgeon, and a few of them are even sterile!

10 days left!

We now have 10 days left of the Dunkeldorf Kickstarter campaign! And we have more updates to show you guys, new Add-ons to add, and hopefully we'll be able to reveal some more Stretch Goals too - We're pretty close to unlocking Ludmilla's precious cat "Colette"!

So stay tuned for more stuff in the next 10 days! Including WIP pictures of Leopold, a new set of bases (Add-on), real size Dunkeldorf posters (Add-on) and much more :)
