Latest Updates from Our Project:

News, worthy of a Friday!
over 4 years ago – Fri, Oct 25, 2019 at 03:18:35 AM

Hey everyone! Here's the latest news from an eerie town called Dunkeldorf.

First off, the resin parcel that has been missing for almost a month, suddenly got a scan in Denmark the other day. As you can see in the picture below, we have the last add-ons we need!

Nana and myself were busy sorting through all the resin yesterday and later today another 50kg metal parcel from Chris arrives. In the picture below we're sorting through resin parchments.

During the weekend we'll sort and bag everything from the metal parcel arriving later today and on Monday we'll start shipping out the first orders, yay! We can't wait to get cracking :D

We're still missing a bit of metal (Primarily accessories) and the remaining cauldrons and barrels. Chris and Christopher should have these ready early October and then we'll be able to ship out all remaining pledges.

We'll keep you updated on the packing/shipping status and keep you in the loop regarding the last metal and resin. For now we're focusing on getting all Early Bird pledges packed and shipped out next week. Then we'll continue to pack orders until we run out of metal accessories, when that happens we'll have to stop and wait for the last of the stuff, which should arrive shortly after.

We'll send out another update late next week after a week of packing! And by then, some of you should already have received your Dunkeldorf stuff :D

Best regards, Nana & Nicki

Shipping Imminent!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Oct 17, 2019 at 03:10:06 PM

Hey everyone! We have some good news and a bit of bad news.

I talked to Chris yesterday who was very busy packing up a lot of metal for us. This package will be shipped out today and should arrive in Denmark next week. It contains all the remaining miniatures and accessories needed (Including a lot of resin barrels and cauldrons) to start shipping out orders.

Once the package arrives in Denmark we'll start bagging everything and by the end of next week we should be able to start packing up orders! If you have moved after the address lock last month, please let us know so your order is shipped to the correct address :)

Now to the bad news, the parcel with resin add-ons that we mentioned in the last update has definitely gone missing. It hasn't received a single scan on the tracking since the end of September. So we have now filed an insurance claim and are awaiting what happens next. We are aware that these cases can take a long time, so in the meantime Christopher has started over casting up what we're missing of resin add-ons to fulfill all pledges.

When the metal parcel arrives next week, we'll still be able to pack more than 60% of all pledges (Including a bunch containing add-ons) and while we're doing that, casting continues on the missing resin which will be shipped out in waves so we can get all pledges out as fast as possible.

When we have received the package next week and checked up on everything, we'll send out another update with extra details about the shipping.

Despite the very bad luck with the missing package, Nana and I are so excited to finally be able to start shipping out your pledges and we can't wait for next week!

Best regards, Nana & Nicki

October Status
over 4 years ago – Wed, Oct 09, 2019 at 03:16:07 PM

Hey everyone! We're starting out with the most important stuff first: The production status.

The Metal

Chris had told us that the metal would be finished last week, unfortunately he's a bit behind on the last wave. I talked to him yesterday and he told me that he now expects to be finished within a few days.

Hopefully that means that the last wave can be shipped out next week along with a large batch of cauldrons and barrels from Christopher.

As usual we won't make any promises until we have everything in front of us, ready to be shipped out, but we're close now. Once the final wave of metal arrives Nana and I will need around 2-3 days to go through it and bag everything (3000 miniatures and a whole lot of accessories) and then the shipping will start!

Chris sent me a few quick snaps from the workshop, including this one of a bunch of Wurt miniatures ready to be packed into the last parcel.

The Resin

The last resin add-ons was shipped to us about 10 days ago, and we had expected them to arrive already. But to our concern not much has happened on the tracking, since it was suppossed to leave the UK, last scan was at a sorting hub. We're crossing our fingers that there's nothing to worry about and that it's merely delayed, but we want to keep all of you completely informed on everything.

Should we be so unlucky that something has happened to the parcel, we still have more than 50% of all the resin add-ons already and when the last metal plus barrels and cauldrons arrive we can still ship out around 75% of all pledges, while we sort out any potential issues.

Barrels and Cauldrons - We switched these to resin as some of you might remember, we needed around 500 of each. Currently Christopher is still casting away, we asked him to make additional moulds to speed up the production and he should be able to get them finished even faster now. But no matter what, we have asked him to send us whatever he has cast up of them early next week. That means that if the final metal arrives soon, we can start shipping out a bunch of pledges, without waiting for all of the barrels and cauldrons to arrive at once.

Linus Witzner

Nana just finished painting up Linus. She used a colour scheme she hasn't used before and with Linus being Herman the Burgomeister's manservant, she wanted him to look slightly sinister and pale (We should probably have found a better character to be based around your name Lina, sorry!)

Nana decided to paint one of the keys as a golden key, which is of course the key to his master's chamber.

We're really happy with how the Linus sculpt/character turned out, we can see him being used for a lot of different purposes, and we're pretty sure he'll be seeing a lot of action in our RPG sessions!

Joseph Kleiber, Boatman (Dunkeldorf 2020)

This is one of the characters we had an idea for, but who ended up not being included in the first Dunkeldorf Kickstarter. His name is Joseph Kleiber and he's a boatman!

Dunkeldorf has a harbor as briefly mentioned in one of the stories from the campaign. The town is partially surrounded by a river, large enough for trade routes (And for smugglers to get their stuff into town unnoticed from the river).

Sonny is working on designing Joseph to have a "Modular" arm. The plan is to release him with the oar AND an optional weapon so those who wish, can use him as a "Bandit" type of guy instead.

When we're getting closer to next year's Kickstarter, we'll reveal more background story to some of these characters that we show in the coming months. The next Kickstarter will be a bit different than our first one to keep things fresh, it will be more thematic, but of course still be focused on the Dunkeldorf townsfolk. The next Kickstarter is not just around the corner, so you will still have plenty of time to receive your miniatures and get them painted up before the next one.

It's slightly bittersweet for us to start showing characters for the next project, as our expectation was that all pledges would have been fulfilled by now and at the same time we have been looking forward to start sharing these characters with you. We just want you all to know that we really appreciate your continued patience and we'll make sure that the production side of things will run more smooth for our next adventure.

Best regards, Nana & Nicki - Oh and remember to join us in our Facebook Group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/DunkeldorfCommunity/ and ask away if you have any questions for us, we'll of course also answer here or via e-mail :)

The Dunkeldorf Community and More
over 4 years ago – Fri, Sep 27, 2019 at 03:13:30 AM

Time for another round of Dunkeldorf news! We have a couple of things to cover in this update, hopefully it won't be too long an update for all of you to go through.

The Dunkeldorf Community

We have set up a Facebook Group called "The Dunkeldorf Community" you can find the group here : https://www.facebook.com/groups/DunkeldorfCommunity and below you can read the description of the group.

Welcome to the Dunkeldorf Community! This group is for everyone who has an interest in the Dunkeldorf line of Miniatures.   We would love to see pictures of your Dunkeldorf miniatures, hear any input, questions or ideas for Dunkeldorf.

So please start sharing once your Dunkeldorf Pledges from our Kickstarter start arriving!  This group is meant for discussing roleplaying games, showing off painted miniatures, showing artwork, sharing hobby tricks and everything in between. It's also an easy way for us to talk to you about anything related to our Kickstarter(s) or Dunkeldorf in general.

Not all of you may be aware, but to avoid some confusion, we thought it would be a good idea to point out that a few bloggers and painters who helped us promote Dunkeldorf, received a cast of Bertha, Herman & Günther before we launched the Dunkeldorf Kickstarter. So if you see these, it's not because some people have received their pledge already.

We haven't actually shared these pictures in any update, but now would be a perfect opportunity to do so!

By Jean-Baptiste Garidel - https://leadplague.blogspot.com/
By Lina Witzner
By Michał Kucharski from http://dwarfcrypt.pl (Michał even found a substitute for Bull - But I'm afraid Skitch and Itsari might have the drop on Bertha, unless Bull can save her!)
By Mads Bo Jensen
By "Rochie Rochfort"

These are not all the photos, several other painters gave Herman, Günther and Bertha a paintjob and we hope that they'll want to share their pictures in the Dunkeldorf Community or that they're okay with us sharing them later on!

We can't wait to see the paint schemes all of you are going to choose for your Dunkeldorf miniatures!

The Latest Batch of Metal Miniatures and Production Status

Yesterday another package containing 50 kg of Dunkeldorf Miniatures arrived from Chris Nicholls, our metal caster. Everything is looking really good, including two of the miniatures that we were especially curious about. "Wilhelm" and "Linus", Wilhelm was always going to be one of the more complex miniatures to cast up, but Chris did a wonderful job keeping it as a single cast.

A box full of Dunkeldorf Miniatures and Herman working as our scale model!

We were a bit nervous if Linus' candle would be a bit too small and fragile, but everything is just as it should be. Below you can see an example of four (Out of 8) of the miniatures that was included in the package.

Bertha, Erika, Wilhelm & Linus - As I'm looking at this picture, I can't help to think how awesome it is that Sonny made every single base tab for all the miniatures from scratch, which means that all the Dunkeldorf base tabs are unique! (Just a little fun fact)

I talked to Chris yesterday who told me that the current Production Status is that metal casting will be 100% finished by the end of next week. Afterwards the metal has to be packed up and shipped to us, which will take a bit of time as well. But we are getting closer!

I'm hoping to hear from Christopher Taylor about the resin in upcoming week, but last I spoke to him, all the resin add-ons were completely cast up (We already have 50% of these) and he was only missing the Cauldrons and Barrels.

The Notice Board V.2

Nana recently painted this version of the Notice Board, instead of using the printed out posters. She used parchments from the "Parchment Set" add-on and painted them.

And below with a couple of miniatures included, Bertha & Wurt looking at the parchments, while Old Tully is sneaking around looking for a potential target of his obnoxious begging and flute-playing.

The Future!

In a not-so-distant future, we'll be creating an overview of all the characters from the Kickstarter with character descriptions, the painted miniatures by Nana and the drawn art by Mustafa and put it up on www.dunkeldorf.eu

Nana still has a few miniatures left to paint, but not many. I believe Linus Witzner is next up and should be ready in time for the next update. Then there's Reiner, Leopold and The Crone. After those, she has actually painted up everything from the campaign! A total of 18 miniatures.

Dunkeldorf Kickstarter 2020

We have also decided that it's about time that we start sharing a bit of work for our next Dunkeldorf Kickstarter coming in 2020. We had originally planned that we did not want to do that before all the pledges were shipped out, as we didn't want you to think that we were no longer focusing on this Kickstarter.

This Kickstarter is still our number 1 priority, but until we have the last batch of metal and resin, there's not a lot of work left for us to focus on. So we'll slowly start to show you a bit of stuff for the next Kickstarter and while we won't reveal too much to begin with, it should still give you an idea about some of the stuff to come. We're saving the first reveal for the next Kickstarter update, so stay tuned!

Have an awesome weekend and we hope to see you in the Dunkeldorf Community, where there's already a bit of activity going on!

Best regards from Nana & Nicki

Mid September Status & Painted Accessories
over 4 years ago – Sun, Sep 15, 2019 at 03:04:28 AM

Hey everyone!

I just talked to Christopher Taylor yesterday who informed me that all the resin add-ons are now completed and he's working on the barrels and cauldrons. So things are looking good on the resin front.

Sonny sculpted this "sweet" guy for a WFRP campaign run by one of our backers. We were quick to adopt him into our Dunkeldorf line and have grown quite fond of him. Thanks Morten! You have helped create an army of "Hogsqueals" ;)

Unfortunately we haven't heard much from Chris Nicholls regarding the metal and are a bit in the dark. The last update from him sounded promising with everything for wave 2 (Out of 3) being completed and things moving forward with the final wave. The revised estimate from Chris was that the last wave would be done this week (2nd week of September).

This still might be the case, but we haven't been able to confirm this, nor have we received wave 2 yet. And based on that Nana and myself are starting to worry if we can make the September shipping estimate. We might still make it, if everything is shipped out in next week, but even then we'll be cutting it close.

Wilhelm was the most difficult miniature for Chris to cast up for us in a single piece. But he managed it! And not a single miniature for this Kickstarter needs assembly, yay!

We're not concerned about Chris not delivering, him and Christopher work closely together (Without sharing a workshop) and Chris has delivered to lots of companies and Kickstarters. The last update from Chris was that he was missing 2 characters and the accessories sprues , which he estimated would be done this week.  So right now we're crossing our fingers and hoping to hear good news when hearing back from him :)

So where are we with Shipping?

With Wave 2 of the metal not delivered, we want to be on the safe side and already now say that we're most likely looking at going into October before we can start sending out pledges. Nana and myself are confident that we can ship out the around 500 pledges (Including Late pledges) within 14 days after having received the final package. The lowest backer numbers will be packed first.

And we have had everything prepared for a while now, the stickers and artwork for the early birds are ready, the Dunkeldorf mugs are lined up, posters are ready and the plastic bases are in bags and accounted for. All the metal and resin we have already received are bagged and ready to go as well.

With the addresses being locked now, we can start printing out all the order details and prepare this as well. Regarding locked addresses, remember that you can always write to us and get us to change it right up until we ship out the pledges.

Painted Accessories!

With the exception of the weapons, Nana has now finished painting all the Dunkeldorf accessories. A total of 4 large accessories, 3 pets and 6 smaller accessories! There's a few pictures included below of all the accessories.

Chopping Block, Anvil, Cauldron & Sausage Barrel
The Dunkeldorf Accessories
Commode from Zealot Miniatures
All the Dunkeldorf Accessories and Pets

One last thing

We want to point out that we're really sorry about the delay, this is of course something we were hoping to avoid, especially considering it's our first Kickstarter and I can't tell you how sorry Nana and I are for the extra delay. And for those who have used Kickstarter for the first time and backed our project, we're even more sorry as we think it would have been awesome to deliver the project on time for first time Kickstarter users.

We really appreciate the support and patience from all of you and we want you to know that we value customer service above anything else as we have always done with our company since 2012 when we started. So please let us know if you have any concerns or doubts and we'll be back with a reply straight away. And if we're so fortunate to have your continued support for our next Dunkeldorf Kickstarter in 2020, we promise that we will do everything we can to avoid any delays on that project :)

Have a great Sunday and we'll be back with an update again soon to keep you posted on any progress!

Best regards from Nana & Nicki
